Something for everyone, Ballarat is full of wonderful things to see and do

 The Ansonia on Lydiard is in the centre of the heritage and arts precinct with many attractions of historical significance including heritage architecture. 

 Heritage & Arts Precinct

For the best of live theatre, cabaret and musicals Her Majesty’s Theatre is located opposite the hotel.  It’s busy calendar of performing arts and entertainment also includes the Royal South Street Competitions every August to November.   Just a five minute walk along historic Lydiard Street and you arrive at The Art Gallery of Ballarat.  Established in 1884, it’s the oldest and largest regional art gallery in Australia.

Buildings of architectural significance include Craig's Royal Hotel, the Town Hall, the Mining Exchange and the Ballarat Mechanics' Institute.

Sovereign Hill re-creates Ballarat’s first ten years after the discovery of gold in 1851 when thousands rushed to the goldfields in search of fortune. Step back in time, enjoy the hustle and bustle of Main Street and the excitement of discovering gold, the real thing!

M.A.D.E. is a new Australian museum dedicated to democracy and is the physical site of the Eureka Stockade. M.A.D.E. is designed to harness the profound Eureka story in the context of the 21st century.

Ballarat Wildlife Park gives you the chance to get up close and personal to some of Australia's most famous native animals. Hand feed the kangaroos and interact with koalas, wombats, and a variety of reptiles including a giant tortoise.
